On Saturday 4 September, 61 ICAB members & friends take part in two challenges in the Lake District:-
· Pikers (22 adults and 15 young adults / children) will ascend Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England at 978 metres above sea level.
· Lakers (16 adults and 8 young children) will walk around Buttermere Lake, some 5 to 6 miles long.
As part of this challenge, we will also be raising much needed funds for both ICAB and Christopher’s Smile, a children cancer charity.
Many will recall, last year ICAB raised over £3,800 for ADCCT, another children’s cancer charity.
It would be tremendous feat if a similar sum was raised this year. We have set ourselves an initial target of £1,000 but with the generous support of ICAB members, family & friends, for which we would all be very very grateful, this target can be easily exceeded.
